Ever since her roadside birth in Paradise Valley, Montana, Adeline has carried with her a knack for excitement and adventure. Whether in the studio or out in the mountains, Adeline finds pure joy and creative self-expression through movement.
She focused her studies on dance and environmental science at Middlebury College ('13), exploring relationships between body and place. Cleveland gravitated toward compositional improvisation, a practice and performance technique in which pieces are generated in the moment. This growing interest led Adeline to the Seattle Festival for Improvisational Dance in 2014 and the Movement Intensive in Compositional Improvisation (MICI) in 2017. Adeline received her yoga teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2011 and has taught yoga and meditation ever since, from Santa Fe, NM to Glacier National Park to Burlington, VT and beyond. She is fascinated and fueled by the practice of yoga and the practice of improvisation. Currently based in Asheville, North Carolina, Adeline is working toward becoming a licensed massage therapist. She continues to teach, write, improvise, and create
